Die meisten Angelenos (und auch wir) sind der Meinung, dass die Thai-Restaurants in Thai Town nur mittelmäßig sind. Das ist wahrscheinlich der Grund, warum Night + Market Song, das kleine, hippe Restaurant am Sunset Boulevard, das von Kris Yenbamroong geführt wird, so beliebt ist. Der junge Chefkoch, der einen Abschluss in Filmwissenschaften hat, hat keine kulinarische Ausbildung, außer dass er in einer Familie von thailändischen Restaurantbesitzern in L.A. aufgewachsen ist. Die fantasievolle, farbenfrohe und hippe Einrichtung ist der perfekte Rahmen, um vor einem Abend in den Bars der Nachbarschaft ein Thai-Bier zu entkorken! Überraschend preiswert ist das Night + Market Song, das eine tatsächlich authentische Küche mit scharfen und frischen Aromen anbietet. Sie sollten auf jeden Fall Coconut Rice, einen in Kokosmilch gekochten Klebreis, und zum Mittagessen Thai Boxing Chicken, ein Grillhähnchen, das traditionell um die Boxringe in Bangkok von Straßenverkäufern serviert wird, probieren.
THE DISAPPOINTMENT
they charge $10 per person if you bring your own cake to celebrate a birthday dinner. I’ve never heard this in my entire life especially the per person charge. So disappointing that we couldn’t celebrate a special birthday here.
THE SERVICE
I feel it could’ve been better with a little bit more empathy and meaningful customer service. A particular server just didn’t care by the word choices used.
THE FOOD
Great food the pork belly was amazing, brussels sprouts, shrimp pad thai, Nam khao Tod, panang, and pad see ew gai.
THE AMBIENCE
lights were very low dimmed during the night pack spot, clean bathrooms, and a very hipster vibe
Overall, the food was awesome but the service and that excessive birthday charge, took it over the top and ruined the mood for our entire party.
