We asked for a twin bed and instead got two singles that could not even touch...
The rooms were small and old and smelled funny. And the walls are so thin you can hear everything.
Practically not parking
Only one pillow was provided for each bed and it was flat as a crepe
Breakfast was poor

Not a very rich breakfast.
Very small bedrooms and not very clean.
The beds were hard as rock and the pillows were basically a pancake.
But at least the rooms were warm and the location is very nice

Had the greatest weekend, rooms were so clean and cozy. Staff was amazing and so helpful! Definitely recommend and will be back when it snows. BEST HOT CHOCOLATE IN CYPRUS!

Great place if you know what you're getting into. Expect it to be modest and humble. It's not posh or fancy. We got a nice room with a balcony and lovely view of the mountains. The bar downstairs is very cosy at night with the log fire going! We got expresso martinis and were very suprised to how nice they were. Would definitely visit again. However, dont expect nothing fancy!

Friendly staff, beautiful location, clean enough rooms and toilets, mediocre breakfast but definitely overpriced.

Parking can be tricky, It has a cozy fireplace in the lounge.

This is a lovely mountain hotel. Although basic it is perfectly dequate budget mountain escape. It has a lot of character and the shows the scars of time. I arrived at midnight but the staff stayed up late and helped me with directions to find the place. The beds were comfortable and bedsheets crisp and clean. I got up at 6am to the sounds of mountain birds, nightingales, I think. I set off early to go trekking in Troodos so missed out on enjoying its tranquil setting. I will be back...I hope!

Rooms look and feel like the came from the 50s 60s. Actually 2/5 for comfort as everything makes a squishy noise. UNIQUE.

Breakfast has a good variety of things and the outside veranda area with a view of pine trees, the nightingales singing gives a relaxing feelings out of this world.

I would definitely recommend but it is not for everyone. Unique experience.

絵に描いたようなクラシックホテルですが、それゆえに全くバリアフリーではなく、スーツケースを部屋に運び込むのは一苦労です。歴史あるホテルですが朝食は品数、調理共に一寸がっかりでした。エアコンも冷蔵庫もない自然派のホテルなので暑さに強くエアコン嫌いの人にのみ勧められます。長期の滞在、それも冬の利用が良いように想像します。

Such a nice quaint hotel with such friendly staff. There is a great feeling of history and love it is an independent hotel.

The location for mountains is wonderful with great walks and easy to get to the town for an evening out.

The room was small but comfortable, there is No aircon but even in summer you get a breeze and the room is comfortable. The room was decorated with pine furniture which adds to the character. The wifi is a bit slow but who cares, you are here to explore this area!

The terrace for a drink was lovely and also to enjoy the local breakfast.

Location. You are away enough from the August chaos of Platres, and near enough if you are a good walker and you need some socialising.
Service. The personnel is polite and willing even when the place is busy, and the owners are very helpful.
Rooms. Though old and small, they are clean and tidy, but they definitely need a renovation, like the rest of the hotel.
As the hotel is ideal for rest and relaxation, it would be a good idea to introduce "quite hours" from both visitors and hotel residents.

New Helvetia is a hidden gem in Pano Platres (higher Platres) I love the fact that it is a historical hotel (eldest in the region) and managed by the 4th generation. The owners are loving and cherishing this unique place and this passion translates into their remarkable service. I go there when I need to relax because it is the only place up there where it’s calm, with a stunning view and with succulent food!
The rooms have all their private balcony ; the personnel is really nice. The owners will discuss and give you tips about the region that they know as nobody. My breakfast was delicious, I appreciated the fresh orange and carrot juices! I love to sit at the Veranda but also in their vintage living room in Winter. You feel transported to an ancient era ! I love places with character and New Helvetia is definitely one of a kind hotel, only the connoisseurs will appreciate it!

This is the great hotel.Rooms are comfortable enough for longer stay.They kept the charm of 40,s in great shape .Cosy bar and wonderful breakfast experience at the terrace.i really recommend the hotel .

I had a great experience. Staff was incredibly helpful.The room was wonderful, clean, and view from balcony is breathtaking. Is the oldest hotel of Cyprus still in operation by the same family which is great.

Cute hotel in an amazing spot in the mountains. Had the best time while staying here. Family owned with polite and hospitable staff. Would highly recommend and come back again!

Everybody was so welcoming and charming. The atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing. The service and the staff was amazing. I would really recommend this hidden gem in Cyprus.
