I had such a wonderful stay at the Watermark, Josh on the valet team was quick to assist me with my car and gave me good recommendations for bars and restaurants in the area, will definitely be back my next stay in baton rouge!
Overall, the room and bathroom were clean and well laid out, and the in-room dining for lunch and dinner was good. However, the disappointment arose when attempting to order breakfast at 6:06 am, despite the menu and online information indicating a 6 am start time; the staff member who answered for in-room dining informed us it didn't begin until 7 am. This discrepancy caused inconvenience, especially when needing to leave by 7:15am.
Room not cleaned around 5 pm, then I was told they were all off work so my room would be uncleaned and no refills, no apology or no attempt to help refill from the hotel.
Had the best stay! Everyone on staff from the front desk, valet, housekeeping, and restaurant staff were honestly the best I’ve seen. We even got a personalized guided tour from “Mr. Bill” who took us through the history of the hotel that was once a bank, unique sculptured reliefs, specially commissioned artwork, and even behind the scenes to see some long-forgotten hotel secrets that still remained. The restaurant Gregory had amazing food! We chose to dine there for both breakfast and dinner. You can always stay at a mass-produced cookie cutter chain hotel, but the Watermark is a true gem here in downtown Baton Rouge.
Amazing downtown unique hotel. You don't have many options outside of Valet to park. There is a self parking lot to the east but it isn't a secured lot.
The retro from a old bank back in the day to a beautiful hotel that overlooks the city and river makes it the place to stay when visiting Baton Rouge.
Unique art decor throughout the hotel. If you like something different, this is your place. The closet is an open wire cage that also holds the fridge and safe. Curtain system to pull for privacy at the bathroom sink.
Probably one of the best hotels in the area! Once stayed here, there’s no turning back! I stayed in several different hotels in Baton Rouge downtown and this is probably the cleanest, most modern and most comfortable! Highly recommended.
I assume this building used to be a bank or similar. The room is very contemporary and very clean! Absolutely love the decor, the bed is also very comfortable!
The bar and restaurant served very good food! Best part is the valet parking has a texting service which allows me to order the car in advance! Super convenient
As a Marriott Bonvoy member we enjoy staying in the Autograph Collection properties. The Watermark Hotel is unique and they did an excellent job preserving the bank history. The rooms were a bit smaller and the service was not as high as we’ve experienced when staying in Autograph Collection hotel. The best part was the valet service.
Super clean! Valet service is well worth it. There are things that we didn’t take advantage of like the bar and restaurant on site. It was a very nice stay. The tip by staff is to request rooms that on the 9th floor and up to see the beautiful view of the city! Agreed beautiful view!!!
AMAZING TIME! My group and I just came in for desserts, and after dinner cocktails, we had Kendall for our server and he was very friendly, helpful, and upbeat even though we were only having desserts and not a full dinner meal. All of our desserts were well executed and delicious. We ordered the Banana Foster Bread pudding and the Triple Chocolate layered cake and asked Kendall to suprise us with a third dessert selection.. he added the Creme Brulee. We also ordered a couple of French 75 (with Cognac of course) and a Don Julio Blanco (which came out in a very cute glassware/shot glass). Kendall was truly a delight and I also personally love the energy of the young vibrant hostess that greeted and sat us down. Overall, love this place.

I loved it, and hope you do too.
