Ein Schlosshotel, das dafür bekannt ist, dass es 2015 und 2022 Gastgeber des G7-Gipfels war.
Dieses 5-Sterne-Luxushotel ist weltberühmt, weil es zweimal Gastgeber des G7-Gipfels war: das erste Mal 2015 und das zweite Mal im Juni 2022. Das Hotel zählt zu den schönsten in Bayern. Die natürliche Umgebung am Fuße der Alpen bietet eine außergewöhnliche Ruhe für diese Art von Treffen, und das Hotel verfügt über zahlreiche Ecken, die sich für Gespräche zwischen Staats- und Regierungschefs eignen. Eine Buchhandlung, Boutiquen, ein Konzertsaal, ein riesiger Wellnessbereich - hier gibt es alles, was man braucht, um sich einen fürstlichen Aufenthalt zu gönnen.

Wir waren bei einer Lesung und konnten davor noch einen Kaffee trinken. Wunderbare Atmosphäre. Freue mich schon auf das nächste Mal.

Himmel auf Erden - sehr höfliche, freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Das, muss ein toller Chef oder Chefin sein, wenn die Mitarbeiter so positiv sind.

I’m late in leaving this review and am doing so because my husband left a review when we visited in May 2022 and he was just contacted by a lawyer of Schloss Elmau to remove his review because they deem it to be ‘fake’. This is absolutely not the case and it is horrendous to see this accusation. Just because the review was not good enough for them and Schloss Elmau clearly didn’t like it, it is not ok to accuse my husband of being a fake person and ask for it to be removed. I stand by the review.

Why we went: the publicity around the G7 summit.
Was it worth it? not really. Although we had a nice experience, we can't recommend at this price point Let me explain:
my wife and I have vacationed in several 5 star superior ski hotels in Austria which gives us a direct comparison. In Austria you can get more (better food - included in the price, newer rooms) and the same (good service, SPA and facilities) for the same price or for less.
Pro: Good and consistent service, great pool areas, location (the Schloss is in the middle on nowhere - the only other hotel similar in that sense we know would be Interaplen in Tyrol) the saunas are nice, however, the Aufguss was weak and nudity is not enforced even in the nude areas. ok rooms, ok food. activities on offer are great and we enjoyed the hike with an experienced hunter as well as the e MTB ride.
Cons: Simply the price. The breakfast for instance had a rather poor selection in comparison to hotels of similar standards in Austria. the dinner cheese selection as visible in the pictures is not even a third of that offered at Salzburger Hof, Arosa Kitzbuehel or Interalpen. Also, out of the dinners we had at the hotel some of the dishes were bland and boring.
the rooms and decoration is rather dated. We don't really like the indian decoration, but that's a matter of taste, however, the Installation as a whole is not the newest.
My take is that the hotel can charge the rates it charges simply because there are enough foreign tourists who come because of the G7 fame and are insensitive to prices or have no direct comparison.
