Die Pensione La Calcina, eine historische Adresse, die bei Reisenden aus aller Welt beliebt ist, ist ein Muss in Venedig. Dieses Hotel, in dem 1877 der Dichter John Ruskin übernachtete, genießt eine beneidenswerte Lage an den Zattere, gegenüber der Insel Giudecca. Die begehrtesten Zimmer bieten einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Lagune und die Redentore-Kirche. Das Hotel wurde vom Besitzer des Hotels Le Fer à Cheval in Megève übernommen und verbindet modernen Komfort mit venezianischem Charme. Ein raffiniertes Frühstück wird auf der Fundamenta oder in einem eleganten Raum mit Aussicht serviert.

We had the corner room with terrace on the first floor. The terrace was lovely in the morning but, for summer, it was a little hot in the afternoon until dusk - when it was the perfect place to take photos! The location is also close to the easternmost point of Dorsoduro which is highly recommended for sunrise photo ops.
The hotel and room were very clean, the bed was comfy, the breakfasts tasty. They organised our 5.30am taxi driver, who met us as reception and took my bag for me, and they gave us a packed breakfast. The staff were all very courteous and happy to suggest places to eat and visit. There are a number of very good restaurants to the west of the hotel, including an exceptional gelaterie artiginale well worth visiting (more than once!).
It is close enough to everything without you being surrounded by tourists all the time which we were grateful for. We would definitely stay here again.

Rapporto qualità/servizi/prezzo un po’ sproporzionato
La prima sera abbiamo atteso più di mezz ora seduti al tavolo solo per L ordinazione
Uno dei calici di rosè era a malapena fresco e la porzione di pesce un po’ ridotta
La seconda sera non ci hanno portato una delle ordinazioni e uno dei primi era sbagliato, purtroppo non tutti i camerieri capiscono bene L italiano
La colazione dovrebbe offrire più scelta
Purtroppo i materassi nella mia camera avevano alcune molle molto dure che erano in superficie cosa non piacevole :(
Uno dei bagni molto piccolo e nell altro mancava il bidet (cosa me mi aspetto di trovare in Italia) ma solo il tubo con cui lavarsi direttamente sulla tazza dal quale però usciva solo acqua gelata.
Vista ovviamente mozzafiato se si ha la camera con affaccio sul canale della giudecca
