We had a great time at Straf, the staff were amazing and very helpful. Location wise the hotel is perfect, it is literally stone’s throw away from the duomo. Easily accessible to every place. Hotel design might not be for everyone’s taste, but that’s not a damper in anyway.
Front desk offered no benefits for either Expedia platinum or Bonvoy gold elite status (we have both). Front desk agents also were not friendly at all. At check-in was informed that Spa was closed for the day but available at 8am the next day, but then was told the next morning spa was closed for repairs which was half the reason we booked this property. Nice building but nothing to offer besides that.
Recently stayed at the Straf with my mom and we have nothing but wonderful things to say about it. Location location location - everything can be reached on foot. My mom felt comfortable walking around shops and restaurants knowing she can easily go back to the room to relax. Lorenza at the front desk was extremely helpful and kind. Be open minded with the ultra modern feel of the rooms and halls! It’s an all around great place offering lots of food options literally out the front door.
I had a great experience staying in this hotel! The staff were amazing, warm, and professional. I’ve booked two rooms and they were both beautiful. Location is top tier. Definitely worth my money!
There are many hotels to choose from in Milan and we are very glad we stayed at STRAF. Great service, perfect location with the most coveted Duomo steps away and also steps away to the Metro. Rooms were large, quirky, but as expected since this is a Design Boutique hotel. Had everything we needed, including access to sauna/ pool, which you can reserve and it’s privately yours for one hour. Titanium status was recognized with an upgrade to the Zen room which Included a massage chair. Bed was very comfortable. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, everything you want. No complaints!
Great location, steps away from the Duomo! Nice and big room, especially by italian standards. Clean and quiet room, considering you're in the heart of the city. Would definitely recommend!!
Ambiente accogliente così come
Il personale super disponibile e attento al dettaglio! Ottimo locale per poter passare anche la pausa pranzo, per non parlare dell’apericena.
Tornerò sicuramente
Pros:
- great location, literally right beside the Duomo and a Metro subway stop.
- brand new, “industrial” design, very chic
- pool and sauna (need to reserve in advance)
- good friendly service
Cons:
- the bathroom counter is knee height, so you are constantly bending to use your toiletries
- there is no bed back board, no proper chair and no proper couch in the room. So there is literally no way to lounge in the room other than to lay flat in bed. Hanging out in your room is extremely uncomfortable.
- between the above 2 points, my back hurts after 2 nights here. You ABSOLUTELY CANNOT STAY in this hotel if you have back issues or you’re over 50 with potential back issues.
- there is literally ONE electrical outlet that you have to crawl on your knees to access under the table
I’m a Marriott lifetime Titanium member. I cannot ever stay at this hotel again to spare my poor back. They sacrificed all function for the sake of form. I don’t know how the “knee height bathroom counter tops” and lack of electrical outlets could’ve passed any sane hotel design inspector.
Centralissimo !
