Nice and new decoration, friendly staff, clean rooms. Location is very good in walking distance for walking lovers. Otherwise only 4 stops by the tram. I will prefer again for next time.

There are no windows, only an air conditioner. This leads to the big problem we had with our stay -> the noise that came from the vents. You can hear all the steps and toilett flushes from above (there are two floors, we stayed on the first). Sleeping was not an option because even if you turned the air conditioner off and no one else walked or went to the bathroom above, you could hear the loud noise the vents themselves made. It took hours to fall asleep and once you managed to do that, you woke up again to the noise from the first people in the morning.
After explaining the situation to the service staff and asking politely for a new room (possibly upstairs) we were told that they couldn’t change it due to the different rooms they had. The first floor was cheaper (but by no means cheap!!) than the second floor, which would‘ve been the reason why we would have had to pay an extra amount of around 60 euros every night to get an upgrade. That wasn‘t even an option, since they were fully booked and they couldn‘t downgrade someone to the lower floor. Whilst this makes perfect sense, this would be the time to offer a discount or maybe a voucher for a drink, just something nice to show that you as an employee or hotel care. But nothing was offered and the empathy showed by the reception staff was limited to none.
One top of it, the cleaning personel arrived late every day (around 5 pm) which crossed with our day planning (get up early, back at the hotel around 4/5 pm) or they didn‘t even show up at all.
The one good thing about the hotel was the location. Right next to it are the food halls which are worth a visit. By tram you reach the city centre in no time or go for a longer but beautiful walk, crossing the many grachten bridges.
All in all, we would choose a different hotel next time since it was too expensive for the little amount of rest and service we got. But we would choose a close-by location.

Beautiful hotel. Very clean and friendly. The room was well equipped with tea, coffee, towels, shower gel, shampoo, hair dryer. Situated in a nice area, 30 min walk to Dam Square. 2 mins to food hallen where so much choice. 5 min walk to tram 17 which takes you to centre of Amsterdam in 15 mins.
