Contrary to lots of other reviews on here, we had a good experience. Fast and friendly service (on a Thursday lunchtime) and good food. The only problem was that the plat du jour didn’t mention that it contained minced meat, which isn’t ideal for a vegetarian… but they took that meal off the bill when they were informed.

The food was very good. The service was excellent. The prices were slightly more than reasonable.

En visite à 10 personnes sur Lyon et ses alentours.nous nous sommes arrêtés par hasard.
L Accueil est chaleureux et bienveillant, très apprécié avec cette forte chaleur parce que Des bouteilles d eau plate nous ont été offertes sans rien demander.
Le serveur parle anglais et il a été fort apprécié par nos cousins américains.
La cuisine a un bon rapport qualité prix.
La terrasse ombragée est un plus.

Can't tell you about the food. Sat me at a table and gave me a menu. After ten minutes hadn't even asked for a drinks order. So I left to find somewhere that cares about customer service.
FYI it's 31 degrees today so I would've greatly appreciated the chance to at least take on some fluids. So thank you for exactly nothing.

Cafe de la Ficelle.
2024: Love this little cafe at the edge of Vieux Lyon! The owners are very kind and attentive. Prices are good and they have both Lyonnaise specials and French standards. I ate here twice and was very happy. Lovely outdoor and indoor.
2025 update: two stars. New owners or operators. Keep walking.

Nous avons pris un petit-déjeuner ce mois de mai 2025 et nous avons très apprécié
Personnel très gentil et notre serveuse Jeanne d'une gentillesse incroyable
En plus d'une situation exceptionnel nous avons passé un agréable moment

Super café à recommander .
J'ai commandé avec mon frère juste 2 cafés allongés. Ils nous ont automatiquement servis avec un verre d'eau bien froide chacun .
En plus la serveuse était souriante et accueillante (blonde).
L'homme à la caisse était aussi gentil.
Service rapide. Café excellent ! Localisation parfaite sous les arbres avec la petite brise . Parfait pour se détendre.
Et enfin c'est à deux pas du métro D

Very bad service, definitely to avoid this place. There was a very rude waiter that didn't want to serve a lunch to me and my friend as tourists by telling us " the kitchen is closed, just drinks available" while some French people who even came after us were served.

5 euros pour une crêpe qui très vraisemblablement n’est pas maison … au vu de sa texture séche et de son absence de goût. Rajouter à ça un chocolat qui n’en n’est pas un, juste un topping industriel, idem pour la « confiture » …

We went in for lunch and there was a strange smell. I went to the bathroom and there was feces on the bathroom wall. I spoke to the waiter and he didn't clean it and just put an air freshener in. Is this serious? I lost my appetite completely. When I went to pay, I spoke again about the bathroom and he said he had already seen it, but he didn't do anything about it. ????
Nous sommes allés déjeuner et il y avait une odeur étrange, je suis allé aux toilettes et il y avait des excréments sur le mur des toilettes, j'ai parlé au serveur et il ne l'a pas nettoyé et a juste mis un assainisseur d'air. Êtes-vous sérieux? J'ai complètement perdu l'appétit. Quand je suis allé payer, je lui ai encore parlé de la salle de bain et il m'a dit qu'il l'avait déjà vue mais qu'il n'avait rien fait. ????
