Das Naturschutzgebiet der Camargue ist das älteste und eines der größten in Frankreich. Die Fauna und Flora ist hier von unschätzbarem Reichtum und kann sich auf einer Fläche von über 1200 Hektar frei entfalten. La Capelière ist ein altes Camargue-Bauernhaus, in dem sich das Informationszentrum des Reservats befindet. Hier können Sie sich über Wanderungen, kulturelle Aktivitäten, Ausstellungen und alle im Reservat angebotenen Aktivitäten informieren.

the best time for birds is April/May. We heard lots of nightingales and sparrows (and saw flamingoes, but in the lake outside the reserve).
There is a good visitor centre/ ticket office but it shuts for lunch so double check. Once you are in you can come back to the car park and there is a shaded picnic area . Ask the staff the secret of opening the gate from outside when it’s lunchtime and you want to re enter.
There are no refreshments and 2 loos, one of which has soap and water.
There is a clear path to follow round the site and we saw quite a few interesting insects and butterflies. Also saw a solitary bird from one of the well placed hides, if you have time on your side there may be more.
