Beautiful cathedral, probably one of the most exceptional that I have visited. There is a lot of history and so much to see. Definitely recommend visiting.

L'intérieur de cette cathédrale est triste, sans âme, rien n'est fait pour l'embellissement, les vitres blanches donnent un teint blafard aux quelques statues présentes. Les chapelles ne sont pas entretenues, pas même une fleur à Marie, à l'autel non plus.
J'admire les bâtisseurs,comme ils seraient tristes de voir ce chef-d'oeuvre tomber en désuétude.
Richard coeur de lion, ne voudrait certainement pas y reposer.
L'extérieur est cependant magnifique et en partielle restauration.

Honestly? Notre-Dame in Paris doesn’t stand a chance. This one’s in a whole different league when it comes to size. And not just size – Rouen’s cathedral feels like the kind of place where even the gargoyles are silently judging whether you're worthy to walk in.
Built mostly in the 13th century, with plenty of updates, fires, and reconstructions over the next few hundred years (classic France), this Gothic giant once held the title of the tallest building in the world. Its spire reaches a ridiculous 151 meters, so yes, your neck will suffer.
Inside, you’ll find stunning stained-glass windows, an enormous nave, and the tomb of Richard the Lionheart – or at least his heart. The rest of him is buried elsewhere, like he’s on some kind of medieval European tour. Claude Monet famously painted the cathedral façade dozens of times from across the square. He had to – the light here changes more often than a Parisian café menu.
If you're into grand architecture, medieval vibes, or just want to feel small in the best possible way, this is the place. Bonus: it's less overrun by tourists than Paris, and the surrounding old town of Rouen is absolutely worth wandering.

Un monument français à voir et à revoir. Impressionnante par sa taille. Facilement accessible, parking sous terrain à proximité.

Majestic! One of the gems of medieval France and truly worth visiting. The architecture and exquisite design is simply stunning. It was beautiful both from the inside and outside. For history lovers it’s a must visit. I was extremely excited to see Richard the Lionheart’s tomb containing his heart but that area was out of bounds. This was disappointing and I wish they would provide ticketed access to the area.
