Lovely champagne house with an amazing old chalk cellar. Duo comtes experience is recommended, you get a lovely tour with an amazing background story followed by a tasting of some of their most prestigious champagnes.

Too touristy and commercial for our taste. Next time I’d skip the cellar tour and just do the tasting as the champagnes are excellent.

Very traditional champagne tasting, with guided tour and 2 glasses to try at the end. Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. Tour lasted 1 hour. Final tasting room a little underwhelming, not enough seats for guests. The cave is fun to walk around as its limestone and is UNESCO. The shop is pretty expensive and clearly they want a certain clientele unfortunately. We got there a little early and had a lovely 3 course meal at the newly open restaurant.

A wonderful experience spread over a couple of hours. Sampled some vintage champagnes, along with a few more & walked around the caves, where the temperature was around 10C.
Our guide was informative and super friendly.

Great value for money and an amazing experience at Taittinger. One of our favorites in the region! The staff is amazing and they know everything there is to know about champagne and wine.

What a fabulous experience we had doing the guided tour at Taittingers. The history is incredible and the crayeres are amazing. They have been left in their original form which provides the opportunity to truly appreciate what the Romans achieved. And we loved the tasting. The first champagne house to allow us to experience their everyday champagne, mid tier and top of the line. A big thank you to Clo who was an excellent guide.

Consigliatissimo!

We did tour a few weeks back. Very special experience inside their cellars which once was an Abbey and the monks were storing the champagne there.
We learnt about the history of Tattinger brothers, the Abbey, and the champagne process in their cellars.
Our tasting were back inside the champagne house where we got to taste two champagnes and one extra. They have so many champagnes that we dont have in Australia.
It was a very special experience to learn about their wines and the art but aslo knowing that their restaurant is opening soon which will have food paired with the champagne.

Needless to say it is classy establishment. The cellars below have a fantastic history. Out guide showed us the remnants left in there by the Romans and the medieval monks. The history of Taittinger was also fabulous to hear.
The guide we had was very knowledgeable and shared with us so many little tidbits of knowledge which we would definitely use at parties in the future.
The tasting upstairs was in a very modern chic environment, a beautiful contrast to the historical cellars below.
And again, needless to say, the Taittinger champagne tasting, which was the main event, was definitely a showstopper. We’ll be back soon!

Great experience to learn how Champagne is made. The first half is a tour of the tunnels where they store the bottles for the second fermentation to add the bubbles. The tunnels are several Kilometers long and the oldest tunnels were built by the Romans. At this location, only about 5% of their production is stored here and there must be millions of bottles. Very impressive. Next is the Champagne tasting. We had 3 unique tastings with very generous pours. The tasting room was a large private room with very comfortable couch chairs and decorative champagne memorabilia throughout the room. Highly recommended for novice or experienced Champagne drinkers.

Have you heard about the Taittinger champagne family? Their story hit me differently with me from all the cellars we visited not only because Mael the lady doing the tour was super passionate and we had an interesting conversation but because their story is about what we realize only after we've let something go. In 2005, this family who'd built this beautiful champagne legacy together decided to sell everything. Not because they wanted to, but because life got complicated, 38 family members with different visions, mounting pressures, taxes, difficult conversations, choices that never quite resolved anything. So they sold their name, their heritage, their shared story to an American real estate investors for over a billion dollars.
Money in the bank, problem solved. Until it wasn't. Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger, who'd fought against the sale, described that hollow feeling afterward realizing they were only interested in their hotels not in the legacy and the champagne. The family name was now just an asset on someone else's spreadsheet. The Americans were already talking about flipping the champagne business, they didn't care about the generations of history in each bottle, the legacy , employees, the vineyards tended by the same families for decades, the traditions passed down...
Their story made me realize sometimes we walk away from things thinking we're making the reasonable choice. The logical one, the right one. Only to discover later what logic can't measure. Less than a year passed before Pierre-Emmanuel couldn't bear it anymore. He gathered everything he had, found partners, banks...who believed in his vision, and bought back just the champagne house, he left the rest of their legacy to the American group paying more for that piece than what they he had received for the entire empire.
I keep thinking about that visit, how sometimes we need to lose something to understand its true value. How what seems broken might actually be worth fighting for. How the courage to say "I made a mistake" can lead to something deeper and more authentic than what existed before and how sometimes trying something new and realizing it didn't work also takes strength, we often focus on the issues never on the fact that there were lessons at every step. What struck me was how after the sale, they gained perspective. The family realized that their shared history had a value beyond any amount of money. How they found ways to gather the money to keep the family legacy.
Pierre-Emmanuel ended up buying back just the champagne portion fair enough but not to restore what was lost, but to honor what it taught him. I have ve been reflecting on my own journey lately. Like the Taittingers, I have come to appreciate how past chapters shape us even when they're complete.
Their champagne house is now one of the few still family owned, different but stronger for having gone through that transformation and taste amazingly nice + a UNESCO heritage.
Anyway, just thought it was a cool story about how endings and accepting that we can make wrong choices sometimes lead to unexpected growth. Some bonds, like good champagne, get better with time. Next time you have a glass of their champagne remember the story behind it ????❤️
And if you get to do the tour with Mael do say hi from Shake who found her knowledge and passion heartwarming.

It was a wonderful experience to visit the Taittinger cellars with an awesome guide (unfortunately, since I was a few minutes late I did not catch that marvellous lady’s name) who provided so much detailed information about the Maison de Taittinger history, the magic bubbles related stories, the champagne making process and, of course, who was so helpful during the tasting. Also a big ‘thank you’ to Marion from the Taittinger boutique who was very welcome and whose assistance was highly appreciated. Never tried Taittinger champagnes before, it was a good opportunity to realise that gap and.. to close it successfully. A place in my fridge for any Taittinger champagne is permanently reserved from now.
