Amère déception. J'étais curieux de découvrir un des hauts-lieux de la Sologne... et j'arrive dans une ville par une rue dont l'entièreté des commerces sont fermés et les maisons sont délabrées. Plus loin, après avoir failli me faire écraser, on y découvre surtout des restaurants style snacks et friteries, plutôt que de la cuisine locale (j'ai rien contre la petite restauration, style pizza, burgers ou dürüms mais quand ça domine le paysage à ce point, c'est pas bien). J'imagine qu'il doit y avoir des coins plus charmants dans la ville mais comme je ne m'y sentais pas vraiment bien, j'ai passé mon chemin. Il y avait mieux ailleurs...

Toujours très bien accueilli et bien renseigné... Actuellement, il y a des nouveaux souvenirs, cadeaux sur Romorantin et la Sologne, livres, corbeilles garnies etc...

Romorantin itself (and the city walk on the map) takes some two hours to visit, plus take some time to visit the town's museums.
Not a spectacular town, the city center suffers from the same disease as compatible French province towns (quite some empty stores) but there is still quite a wide variety of restaurants and plenty of nice streets. And don't ignore the impressive industrial past of the town of which some amazing witnesses are still around.
For those staying one or two weeks to visit the Loire castels, this could be an interesting diversion, also because of the surrounding impressive Sologne forests.
