Has the bones of a grand old hotel.
Could use a little sprusing up.

A great location for shopping if you opt for a view of the park from your room. Lots of attractions however are further downtown so be prepared to walk.
Very old school 5 star hotel and superseded these days by the hotels like the Langham etc in terms of facilities and finish.

Bed was comfortable, HVAC system is good. There is no coffee in this hotel after 8am and your only option is to go to the restaurant. Seriously, the Pierre could learn a thing from the Best Western and pretty much every hotel chain in America and put a coffee machine in the room.
When you pay this much for a hotel (and it was my first time), you expect some amenities to be included, but once you are there it just feels like you’re getting nickel and dimed for everything. Getting a suit steamed was $64, the lightest snack at the bar was $35, a single waffle was $33, the almonds in the minibar were $12, and I was expecting “turn down service” to include at least a piece of candy on the bed but it didn’t.

A friend who frequents NY recommended that I consider staying at The Pierre. After noting the property recently won the coveted Forbes 5-star award for 2024, and seeing all the perks offered by booking through AMEX, I decided to book this for a mother-daughter trip to NY.

The location is perfect, next to Central Park and the Subway along 5th Avenue, and offered a warm and welcoming home base for our week long stay. We were excited to learn of the (almost) 100 years of history and were charmed by the warm and friendly staff throughout our stay.

Our needs (even the unexpressed ones) were anticipated and we simply did not want to leave. It is worth it to book the guestrooms facing Central Park! We especially enjoyed the traditional elevators and the elevator attendants, which make it a quintessential classic NY experience!

Be sure to take advantage of the helpful concierge team - they steered us in the right directon for anything from coffee, museums, restaurants, bars and entertainment. We are grateful for this extraordinary team of professionals who work here, and couldn't have imagined a more perfect stay in NY.

The hotel is great for weddings and corporate groups, the ballroom is exquisite! Rooms are super clean and housekeeping comes 2-3 times a day. Beds are super comfy and the property is well maintained, with recent renovations too.

They do cater to a lot of Indian travelers and even have rooms decorated in Indian style. Indian menus available too.

We have been staying at the Pierre whenever we're in NYC since 2015. It's sad to see how the hotel has deteriorated over the years, especially after the Pandemic. The rooms are in dire need of renovation. In particular, the heating system is archaic. It makes "explosion-like" noises so loud that they prevent you from sleeping deeply!

Still a very classy place! The staff at the restaurant are truly outstanding. I think Victor was the name of the waiter who truly made our meal memorable.

Nous avons segourné à New York 10 jours et seulement pour la dernière nuit nous avons décidé de nous rapprocher de Central Park et donc de dormir au Pierre.
Comment dire que mon seul regret est de ne pas avoir passer l'entièreté de mes vacances ici, dans cet hôtel somptueux ! Cadre magnifique, personnel incroyable, une petite dédicacée à Sam à l'accueil qui parlais français et qui nous a accueillie de la meilleur des façon !!

Je conseil cette hotel à tout ceux qui viennent à New York sans aucune hésitation!
Il est évident que je reviendrais !!

Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by an exceptional staff (shout out to Anna & JC!) who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. While we waited for our room, Anna arranged to have tea and biscuits delivered to me right in the lobby, since we were tired from our travels! She did her best to make sure our room was ready early, and it was everything we could have hoped for and more- Spacious, beautifully decorated, large tv, and a bed so comfy we felt like we were sleeping on a cloud (I had to drag my wife out of it so we could sightsee lol). The bathroom was a dream come true, boasting a huge shower and a separate tub for those relaxing soaks after our long days of exploring. One of the highlights for me was the breathtaking city views from the window, which added an extra layer of magic to our stay. The historical vibes of the hotel gave it a unique charm, and I loved learning about its rich heritage during my time there. One thing that truly set this hotel apart was the presence of an elevator operator, adding a touch of old-world elegance to our rides up and down :) The rotunda with its hand-painted murals was a gorgeous place to relax. We only had the pleasure of staying 2 nights, but each night, the Housekeeping staff left us gifts including sunglass cleaners, cord protectors, lavender satchels, beauty products, and even left my wife a new bookmark in her book on the nightstand- These types of touches were appreciated beyond belief! Each morning, we started the day with a complimentary continental breakfast in the lobby, complete with fresh coffee, tea, and pastries (Low carb? Not so much. Delicious? YES!). It was the perfect way to fuel up before heading out to explore the city. Speaking of location, this hotel couldn't be better situated. Within walking distance to Central Park and all the fancy shops 5th Avenue has to offer, I felt like I was truly in the heart of the action. Although pricey, our stay at this hotel was nothing short of perfection. From amazing staff to the beautiful room, delicious breakfast, and prime location, it exceeded all our expectations. We can't wait to return!

Dinner on Sunday night, our waiter was VICTOR from Ecuador. My family visiting has wonderful memories of THE PIERRE. We booked a table and luckily Victor was our waiter. He was superb. He was attentive, warm, caring and all of his recommendations were SPOT ON. The soup was excellent and the steaks were divine. The steak tartar was one of the best we ever experienced. The fish courses were delicate but tasty but the jewel in the crown here were the desserts: a great contrast of light and delicate [ the Pavlova] to pure decadence [ their chocolate creation ]. The evening was purely subtle elegance. It was dining like old New York! Again, it was the seamless service by Victor and his team that made the evening memorable. I travel and dine out a lot and the TAJ chain is one of the best in the world. Victor, enjoy the 2 dollar bill. We of course left a tip but the 2 dollar bill was a REGALO, A GIFT.

Expensive ... but perfect.

Nice hotel

I met Mr. Francois Luiggi, his head of loyalty Ms, Dawa and the head of front desk Ms. Ana Dekker when we first arrived for a five weeks long stay. They were extremely friendly, warm and highly hospitable in their approach and very attentive to our needs. I must say that they won my business over from the Four Seasons Downtown as their staff and their hospitality standards were simply much higher. You can also tell a good leader in Mr. Francois Luiggi with the quality of great managers and staff around him but most importantly how they apply their good hearts to what they do daily. They all simply care here from the doormen, bellmen, concierge team, specially the head Ivette and Maurice, the reception team led by the most energetic manager I have met in a long time which is Ana Dekker, Sharon in housekeeping, Katy who heads up the elevator attending team who are so kind, caring and warm. I can say enough about how good everyone is and how they all helped me and my wife when we were both in bed for a few days with a strong case of the flu. They sent us ginger, garlic, lemon and lots of herbal tea and kept checking on us all the time. I strongly recommend this hotel than most hotels I ever stayed at and we spend roughy 200 nights at major hotels worldwide, specially the Four Seasons Hotel. Anyway, the Pierre Hotel will be our home away from home whenever we travel to New York City which happens at least 2 or 3 months per year. We very much look forward to our future stays at the Pierre hotel and we are really grateful to Francois Luiggi and Ana Dekker and their teams. Great job!

Ottimo hotel, posizionato nel centro di Manhattan davanti Central Park. Camere belle e ottimo servizio di pulizia delle stanze. Non ha uno stile moderno ma ho apprezzato comunque questo lusso del passato. I bagni sono ampi e moderni invece. Tutto il personale dell'albergo è molto gentile, cordiale e molto disponibile. Il bar fa ottimi cocktail.

מכל בחינה אפשרית מדובר באחד המלונות הכי טובים שיצא לי להתארח בהם (ויצא...) שירות לא מהעולם הזה, חדרים מדהימים, נוף לסנטרל פארק, שקט, מיקום בשדרה החמישית. ויש אחלה בר עם הופעות.
