Zwei große Pluspunkte für dieses Hotel sind sein Spa, das zu den bestbewerteten in Sevilla zählt, und ein sehr schöner Pool auf dem Dach.
Das an die Magdalena-Kirche angebaute ehemalige Majestic, das den Sevillanern so am Herzen liegt, war schon immer ein Treffpunkt für die Prominenz der Stierkampfwelt; vor den Stierkämpfen kommen die Toreros noch immer, um sich in einer seiner Suiten anzukleiden. Seit es im Jahr 2000 restauriert und 2007 von berühmten Designern wie Starck und Wanders renoviert wurde, ist dieses 1929 für die Iberoamerikanische Ausstellung eröffnete 5-Sterne-Hotel einfach prächtig. Im Eingangsbereich befindet sich eine große, moderne Lobby mit einer riesigen Kuppel, die einen Eindruck von dem hohen Standard und dem Komfort des Hotels vermittelt. Große, helle und gemütliche Zimmer mit Doppelbett, Flachbildfernseher und schicken Designermöbeln. Aufgrund der Nähe zum Museum der Schönen Künste ist jede Etage einem Maler gewidmet, insgesamt sieben, wobei Goya die letzte ist. Nicht zu vergessen das Spa, eines der beliebtesten in Sevilla, mit Hammam, Sauna, türkischem Bad, Fitnessraum... Seit 2017 ein schöner Pool auf dem Dach. Hier sollte Obama bei seinem Aufenthalt in Sevilla im Juli 2016 übernachten, wenn er nicht aufgrund der aktuellen Ereignisse seine Reise hätte absagen müssen. Wenn Sie nicht das Glück haben, dort zu wohnen, können Sie sich in der Hotelbar die Flamenco-Shows ansehen, die dort regelmäßig stattfinden.

Sin duda resaltar el servicio del personal de cafetería y comedor. Buscaron todo tipo de opciones para ofrecerle al niño y adecuar su cena, todo ello fuera de carta.

Recuerdos desde Bilbao
We booked five days for our honeymoon in one of the suites on the 7th floor including a big terrace and jacuzzi.
ROOM: the room was spacious and overall clean, in particular the bathroom was quite modern. There was some wear here and there, nothing terrible, but for a 5* at 1k€ a night (roughly) it’s probably deserving of some renovations. I shouldn’t have to call maintenance to extend the sunroof, and the toilet door shouldn’t jump off the rails.
HOTEL: the hotel’s location is fantastically central, and you’re in walking distance to many things the city has to offer. The Red Level lounge underperforms, it’s a small room with some drinks and so-so snacks. I see no reason to spend any time here ever other than while waiting for your room to be ready.
SERVICE: our room was turned several times a day, staff is always super friendly. A special shoutout goes to the really nice cleaning staff. When we had to call for maintenance or anything else the response was always prompt. My expectation for a 5* has been fully met here.
FOOD: we ordered breakfast via room service one day, and this was hands down the biggest letdown. For 15€ for a single avocado toast I expect better than a soggy slice of toast, it was inedible. Our complaint to this was never met with any response — absolutely not worthy of a 5*! The minibar is, as everywhere else, hopelessly overpriced, and makes you just not want to use it at all, what a shame. As for regular breakfast or the restaurants, we didn’t use those — and why would you? There’s so much amazing food in the area, go out and experience it!
AMENITIES: we really only used our private jacuzzi. We certainly enjoyed it, though it was visibly a bit older, and we had to call maintenance once due to the water level. But relaxing in it in the afternoon sun high above the city was a real pleasure.
All in all I’d say the hotel is a great choice and performs really well in general, though falls just a tad bit short for a 5* at this price point. We don’t regret staying here at all, though, and had a great time. The biggest shame is the really poor room service food, when enjoying breakfast on our private terrace would otherwise be a unique experience.
