I think this is my favorite restaurant in the world. The food is amazing, very fresh relatively simple but still very beautiful.
The way I would describe 3fils is like “quiet luxury” - its not showy or flashy but very impressive on all levels.

I have 2 favorite dishes: As a pasta fan I crave their Sakura Ebi almost daily. And their African Powerhouse chocolate desert… its something else.

Everything you’ll try is very impressive and delicious. Ofc lets not forget about their sushis, and their burgers (which many say to be the best ever)

Mind you they don’t take reservations and there is no alcohol. I recommend to go for a weekday lunch, you will directly sit or won’t wait top much.

This place is iconic, and for good reason. There is a serious level of dedication to the flavors produced here and every item on the menu was designed to make those flavors hit your taste buds.

It’s technically a “Japanese” style of menu, but it’s fused with a pretty modern set of items that can suit anyone. They have sushi items, burgers, fish dishes, octopus, noddles etc. you won’t get bored.

It is non alcoholic so keep this in mind - you’re there for the food and atmosphere anyway!

A must try is the coal dish.

The wait times can be problematic in the evenings, they do not accept reservations and so from 7pm onwards you’re basically on a wait list. The line seems to move pretty fast though.

Ask the staff for recommendation, they are super helpful and kind.

You’re going to have to go in with a specific budget in mind depending on the experience you’re looking for, so here is a bit of a guide:

1- two/three friends just hanging out over a few bites - AED150-200

2- four hungry people that want to feel satisfied but not overly full - AED550 - 600

3- five people or more that want to try at least 8 items (some special menu some regular menu) and feel satisfied - AED900 - 1,000

4- best culinary experience to try as many of the menu items as possible and feel satisfied - AED1,200+

Of course you can tailor your experience as you like, but it’s worth trying some of the staple basics as in the pictures I posted (all of that was approx AED 900, but we doubled up on some of those dishes and got drinks).

Went out for dinner with a couple of friends. I loved the area and the atmosphere, sitting next to the harbor was very nice.
But to be honest there are a few things I didn’t like. First of all the food was average and everything seemed to run a bit low on taste, like it needed some extra seasoning. And that’s fine usually but the problem is that the restaurant is trying too hard to adopt a ‘gourmet’ style with its tiny portions and some “what you see is what you get” attitude. I asked for soy sauce for the salmon sashimi and the waiter’s response was “sorry sir we don’t provide extra sauce”. Any restaurant that gives off this vibe of “we will tell you how to enjoy your food” needs to be good enough to back this up and/or be an ultra-authentic specialty restaurant. But this place simply was not.
The salmon sashimi was very fresh but lacked seasoning. Same goes for the salmon carpaccio which tasted very bland.
Seaweed salad was very good
Beef carpaccio was also very good
The rest was just average and below what you would expect in a place like this.

Things would be very different if they let you enjoy your food the way you want to.
